Installation

Prerequisites
You must have Tcl/Tk installed. To install Tcl/Tk, first download it from here: http://www.activestate.com/Products/Download/Download.plex?id=ActiveTcl.
If your OS is not in the list there, then you must download Tcl/Tk in source form and compile it. Download and install info in this case can be found here: http://www.tcl.tk/software/tcltk/downloadnow84.tml.

Install the Tcl/Tk you downloaded/compiled above

• Windows
  
  • Unpack the archive preserving the directory structure inside it. Place the resulting tkhub directory where you like tkhub to be installed (I suggest c:\tkhub).
    (Make sure the extracted directory is not marked as read-only, to do that right-click on the directory, choose Properties, and uncheck the Read-Only checkbox if is checked. If asked choose to make the change in all subdirectories.)
    
  • Edit at least the c:\tkhub\config\config.tcl file and change the 'hubAddress' from 'tkhub.kicks-ass.org' to your IP address of the machine the hub will run on (or the associated DNS name).
  • Open a Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> type 'cmd' and press Enter, a Command Prompt should appear). In the new window, type
    

    		cd c:\tkhub
    		tclsh tkhub.tcl
    		

  • Now you can connect to the hub using a DC++ client and going to : (where hubAddress and hubPort are the ones that are defined in config/config.tcl file)
  
  
  
• Unix
  
  • Unpack the archive preserving the directory structure inside it. Place the resulting tkhub directory where you like tkhub to be installed (I suggest /usr/local/tkhub).
    
  • Edit at least the c:\tkhub\config\config.tcl file and change the 'hubAddress' from 'tkhub.kicks-ass.org' to your IP address of the machine the hub will run on (or the associated DNS name).
  • Open a new console and in that console:

    		cd /tkhub
    		tclsh tkhub.tcl &
    		

  • Now you can connect to the hub using a DC++ client and going to : (where hubAddress and hubPort are the ones that are defined in config/config.tcl file)
